I postponed the serious pursuit of art until I retired from a career in medicine. My art statement is made in pastels with the use of strong vivid colors and simple shapes. The paintings are dramatic with the use of a combined impressionistic and realistic approach. My subjects are quite varied and inspired by travels to Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Corsica, Greece, as well as scenes in the USA.
